This is my second vv-998s. I really like it. Great display, good selectivity, good reports on air, small footprint and lots of features. There is a few flaws and glitches but not enough to make me dislike it. It seems to drop out a fraction of a second now and then when receiving a signal. Might be software related or just noise locally. Could not get scramble function to work when communication with a HYT radio, maybe different solutions or maybe wrong setting. Menu is a little different from other radios but it is no problem to get it working. The loudspeaker level is a little difficult to set to desired level, seems like the steps are a little too much separated. Possibly optimized for a noisy environment like a car...
