Very nice soldering iron. **The switch has 3 positions: 0 Everything is off. 1 The iron is on; the purple LED indicates when it is heating (goes off when the desired temperature is reached). 2 is like the previous mode, plus the 3 front LEDs are now on, to illuminate the workpiece. **The lighting The 3 LEDs cast a small shadow at the tip when you are close. **The way I use it: I leave the switch on the last position all the time, so when I plug it in, the purple LED is on (while heating up) and when the LED goes off, I know the working temperature is reached. And the 3 LEDs are always on, so I do not forget to unplug it when I am finished! **Temp selection: the wheel is colored (green/red zone), which enables fast adjustement without having to read the dial (other brands where it's white on grey, not easy to read). Heating up takes 5-10 seconds, depending on the desired temp. **The stand is made of metal, and has an adhesive pad underneath. Sticks very well to hard surfaces.
