Seller sent the newer model VC97A instead of the VC97, what is really nice since the "A" version is an upgrade and offers better features like True RMS measurement, backlight, Max/Min, etc. I also own the older version with I have being using for more than 7 years. The built quality is just ok but the LCD has a very good contrast. Internally, it does not have any input protection so, you definitely want to keep it far away from mains or any high energy circuit, for basic electronics it does the job though. Oh, and if you ever burn the fuses in the current ranges, you will have to disassembly the whole meter to change it, so better be carefully.
