mechanism works great. stable and stiff, hardware assembles and disassembles with ease/no tools. one thing I noticed is between the 2 mounts I purchased, the EXTENDED arm is better. the flat mount sits slightly at an angle and really would only serve as a phone holder, but there are better options for that on the market. but as a makeshift gopro, or as a "HUD screen" in front of you the extended arm does it all better. my pictures show what the difference is with both my arms extended from both the flat mount and the extended arm mount. overall good product.
