Honest review (and I don’t write many reviews): I set my expectations low and this thing blew me away. I’ve listened to many HiFi systems and other much more pricey tube amplifiers and this thing competes! The Chinese tubes that come with sound great. Lots of dimension, deep lows, and silky smooth highs. But I did have a tube blow the first week of listening. Replaced them all with Russian tubes and got slightly better tone out of it! They will probably last for years too. I’m listening on some old JBL centuries and the power output is just enough to listen to music at a decent volume. It will not get loud enough to rip your head off (which is fine with me). So if you’re looking for ear piercing loud, this amp won’t do it on bigger bookshelf speakers. But it’s definitely enough to drive them!
