The XLR to 1/4" cable introduced additional noise. An XLR to XLR cable remedied this, and provided a better resolution. The bottom and top ends of the K8 microphone were loose, and easy to unscrew when gently touched. Tightened them the other way with my hands, and all is good. In terms of audio quality, voice resolution and detail is very good for the price, however has a bass boost that may not fit all voices. Using the mic further away lessens the bass boost effect. The provided pop filter is sufficient for my softer voice, but may require an external wind and pop filter for more 'explosive' voices to prevent plosives.
