  • a buyer has found a more attractive offer;

  • a buyer made a mistake ordering the product;
  • system error – orders were produced, and it turned out that two product results are expected to be dispatched at once;
  • erroneously entered delivery information – made a typo or a mistake in the city or name;
  • accidentally paid for the wrong order.

It is good that Aliexpress provides the option to self-cancel the order through your personal account. An exceptional condition is, you must have time to select the product before the seller sends it.

Let’s have a deeper look at all reasons that might happen in a situation when a buyer needs to cancel orders.

Canceling the order during checkout

An unpaid order on the Aliexpress website is not officially considered completed. The system must first wait 20 days, and if during this time the buyer has not completed the payment process, the order will go to the “Completed” status, so the “Pay now” button will automatically be replaced by the “Add to cart” button.

Until the moment you pay for the order, the seller will most likely send you messages asking why you did not pay or if they can help you with something when placing an order. Sometimes sellers can give you a discount. In this case, neither the seller nor you will be fined for an unpaid order.

Payment for the order has already been confirmed

An easier cancellation of a paid order on AliExpress can only be if the product has not yet been shipped by the seller to the buyer’s destination (this is evidenced by the status: “Awaiting shipment”). To cancel an order, first you need to log into AliExpress account, select the desired order from the list of orders and click the “Cancel order” button. This button appears 24 hours after the product has been paid. 

In the next window, you will have to click the “Request cancellation of order” button to confirm the cancellation of the order.

There is a tip for buyers: if you cancel the order on your own initiative and do not claim a refund, select the reason “I ordered the wrong item”. It is possible that a seller will assign a new number to the order and this time will successfully send it, the other way is to offer to return the money.
