This is a beautiful, finely made and sharpened knife and it is well worth its price! It is made of high quality stainless steel and is therefore only slightly magnetic- it slides off my magnetic knife rack (I will need to find some patent to hold it safely). The hammering is real and very nicely done, as is the ebony handle and decorative screw. I cannot tell if it is real damascus or laser etched - the effect it very light and not easy to see. I hope it is. The blade is excellent, in any case. It sits comfortably in my hand and is perfectly balanced and sharpened. Overall, a beautiful, well-made, high-quality knife.
I am still very happy with the knife, even after some use. Holds edge well, easy to sharpen when needed. I put two cube neodymium magnets to hold it to to my knife holder, and that worked well.
