Thicker than expected. The extra motion is very nice when coupled with a HydroBot or other decender which doesn't require unclipping the carabiner. Gives peace of mind when showing new canyoners the ropes. Gate does get stuck on micro-rack, so orientation matters with smaller belay/descending devices.
