The pearl is not a glass pearl because of the layer of outside peels off. I made a bracelet out of these pearls and after I wore it a few times, the outside layer peeled off. It is plastic. If you are looking for one-time use high-quality pearls, this s great. The good side is that it doesn't look as cheap and sheer as plastic pearls.
