Fast shipping. They were once the best earbuds for their price, but time goes by ... The Source of "Drive-fat-emotions" like Dethonray DTR1 is not suitable for Zen 2, but there is enough power. Zen 2 has the same signature, you need an opposite source, more neutral or bright. Disadvantages, high price, I would like the cable to be softer and better level. If you want VE earbuds for the DTR1, look to the side Zen LL, a good combination.

Using PC with FLAC to my Beresford Bushmaster Mk I DAC, rated for up to 600 ohm impedance, 24-bit, 96kHz Optical. Wow, these little beauties can sing. Lovely bass and separation. I find this DAC a little on the bright side, which matches these little guys perfectly to make those details really pop. Next up I tried my Oppo HA-1, also rated for 600 ohm impedance, this time 32-bit, 192kHz USB. Everything feels much more rounded, very smooth and full sound while retaining the details. Included are also the Monk earphones. I used these with my Note 9 and Tab S6 tablet. For this task, they are great. When comparing to my Sennheiser MX 471, the MX471 is all top end and weak sounding. The Monk have a good amount of bass and sound much better overall. Is the jump from the Monk to Zen 2.0 worth it in a side by side comparison? I'd say yes if you want them for home use, just be aware of the impedance requirements :) Would I buy these again? 100%.
