I thought USB type C connectors work the same regardless of the orientation (how are they plugged - straight or rotated by 180 degrees). Well, this is not true for this adapter. Look at the performance difference when accessing an external SSD with female USB type C plug trough this adapter connected to a USB 3.0 port straight and rotated 180 degrees. Quite a difference 40MB/s to 400+MB/s.
