This stuff is great! It fits my Mosin Nagant pretty well. There are a bunch of pads that you can add to match your needs so not only does this product dampen recoil, it also add to adjust the rifle stock to your body. About recoil, I bought this because the ammo I use for hunting are powerful and beat shoulders badly: this made firing very comfortable. Second benefit of this: it adds extra protection to the stock in case you bump it on rocks for example, or in the safe hard metal edges.
