Very good sensor. Need only red, black and white wire. Output data format simple plain ascii text with six positions for distance in mm. Distance is in hexadecimal format. For default settings really easy to use. For extra not necessary settings is documentation missing. Housing of sensor is closed with infrared filterglass on top of the receiver and laser (not shown by the item description photos). Only 50ma current at 5V continous 100Hz distance range flow.
There is no documentation at all. I figured out the wiring and can read the serial data output but have no idea to interpret the data. If appears to be encoded in some fashion but I cannot find any manual/datasheet for this. It is not usable unless the seller provides at least some information on how to use the product.
