Copied same parts from other review of nest delivered in the same package: Nest came relatively quickly. It was packaged very well and survived delivery even after the package was slightly crushed during delivery. Also it looked like, from the picture, there was a mesh separating the sponge from the nest, but there is not. The sponge when dry has a large amount of space to wiggle, and even when it is moist it has some wiggle room. Other then all of that, it seems like a decent nest for a starting colony. I might have to see if I can cut a small piece of mesh to block access so that I can keep smaller ants in it. As it is now, I would not recommend having smaller species of ants in it, as I believe they may squeeze out of the small hydration hole.
