This set positively surprised me! First off, the box is sturdy and has more mixing wells than most watercolour tins that come in this size, so I think it's perfect for travel. The paints themselves are superb. As with any mica watercolours, you have to pre-wet them generously before use, but since they are poured into the paints (instead of dried and cut), they activate rather easily. The colour payoff is strong for each pan; the amount of glitter varies, but I'm fine with that. They look smooth on paper and mix nicely. Ah, now I wish I went with the bigger set, but I might grab it in the future. Highly recommended!
