Works very well, especially for the price! As description says, it is based on the Quick 861DW design but modified for a lower price point. When I opened it up I noticed these minor things are different compared to EEVBlog's review of the Quick 861DW: (1) No mains filter, so it may create a little more interference on your power lines than you would like (I haven't noticed anything though). (2) The transformer hums a little bit when it is idling, but you can easily switch it off when not using it (3) The electrolytic capacitors are a generic brand so they may not last as long as the Jamicon capacitors used in the Quick. (4) There is a little less heatshrink, insulation tubing and cable ties, but it still looks good enough. (5) Some of the rubber plugs holding the motor on the mount were broken on mine, but the motor was still secured and sitting on the rubber mount. I am not an electrician but it also seemed to have good continuity from chassis to earth when I received it.
Very good hot-air rework station. The air blower is not very loud and has a pleasant sound (it has a brushless motor!). The heater heats up very quickly, even after taking the handpiece out of sleep mode. Easy to use programmable presets. I got two holders for the handpiece: One mobile holder which you can place freely, and one holder to screw on the right side of the station (holds the handpiece nose-up). Both holders activate the sleep-function when you put the handpiece in (it blows air without heating until the temperature is under 100°C and then shuts the blower off). The big mobile holder is heavy and also has a tool to extract hot nozzles (you don't have to let the nozzle cool or use pliers). Absolutely worth the money. Great product!
