Well, the cable works, presumably. I tried it on the HP pavillion gaming 15 laptop and at first it was only able to just power on the hard drive (but the hard drive was not showing up in the system). The problem, it seems, was with the small plastic guards at the left and right of the 10-pin cable. In order for it to work properly, it has to be connected to the far-right of the input port and not on the centre since the input port has more than 10 contact points.
