Yes it works and in this case allowed me to reset an expensive DENON CD player from the 1990s that had a volume level on it's audio output - could not hear music unless amplifier volume was at full power. Was able to re-set from minus -13 to 0. Installing batteries was difficult and the large volume-up button only worked if pressed on its left edge. What can you expect for the price?
