My first Luban plane that I then followed up with by buying a Luban No.7 jointer also from Ruby's Store. I build musical instruments as a hobby so good quality tools are critical given the limited time I have tending to shoddy tools. These are really well made, and stands up to the scrutiny of closer inspection. I typically used Japanese kanna planes, so more accustomed to the pull rather than the push stroke but these Luban planes are very well balanced. The are almost ready to use straight out of the box. Small issue is that they tend to rust easily in my climate given the humidity so you have to be proactive in applying mineral oils periodically. Not as well finished as Lie-Nielsen in the detailing but you're paying half the price so pound-for-pound, these Luban planes are so much better than any other Western planes. Ruby ships fast and I appreciate the good communication.
Item delivered as described, have not tested it yet as I don't have a Bench and Vice to work on. There were some issues with Customs but seller worked out with me and resolved amicably, satisfied with purchase.
