The lure was leaking. How to check if a lure is leaking: put the lure in freezer for 15 minutes then put the lure in hot water 50C. Any air bubbles raising from hook loop connections or from the body of the lure indicates that the lure is leaking. Such a lure takes in water and becomes unusable in very short time. To the seller - please make your lures watertight otherwise you are just wasting resources and polluting the environment. NOBODY NEEDS UNUSABLE JUNK, EVEN CHEAP ONE. I check all lures for leaks when I get them, no matter a brand or source.
