item arrived in US about 15 days after item was purchased. I thought this item popped up to roll the dice. when you push one of several buttons on the rim, the inner disc spins until you take finger off of button. as it spins, it causes dice to roll around. there is a felt disc with 4 small ridges that help dice roll. it takes 2 AA batteries to operate. it functions very well and I am happy with the purchase. the plastic dome easily comes off and it will roll most gaming dice if they are not really big or heavy. it will roll metal dice very well.. it also comes with a few 6 sided dice as well. I recommend this for anyone looking to add something new to their dice games.
