it makes impossible into possible :) Don't have big illusions - it won't make your old laptop into shiny gaming station; however - it does what it promises - it brings option for external GPU with its benefits. Attached photo of my setup for my son : its Lenovo m700 tiny pc with M.2 cable to EXP GDC - works great with Nvidia 1050Ti; CPU is i3-6100T - CPU (generation) is one thing you need to think carefully if that EXP GDC will perform: - in this situation CPU is 6th generation, which PCI Express link-capacity is 8 GT/s (3rd version of PCIE) : same speed as Nvidia 1050Ti speed is. However M.2 connection width is only x1 of x16 this GPU could take. So that's the maximum : 8GT/s x1 line * 128/130 encoding = 0.985 GB/s. You can read about PCI Express speeds and generations on Wikipedia.
All ok
