Based on some unboxing of MI VR Play II, the product was supposed to come along with instructions where there is a QR code for the product to work. No such thing came with the product. How am I supposed to make it work?

Working great with my Nokia 8. To get the Cardboard QR search in Google for "Xiaoni VR Play 2 QR". The button works great, there's no light leaking in, and it's comfortable!
