I don't know if the processor really works, I wanted to update my I7-2630QM processor for this one, maybe the bios does not recognize it and when I turn on the laptop there is a black screen issue and it does not boot. I reinstall the old processor and it works normally. After installing it, investigate and according to the manual downloaded from the hp website from dv6-6180la, it only recognizes up to the i7-2820QM. :(
