This processor is absolutely fabulous. I used it to upgrade an Aspire 5742ZG laptop from 2010. Now the laptop runs at more than twice the speed. I had to upgrade the laptop BIOS to the latest, then I used MCExtractor to understand what processors were supported and I found I should have been fine with any processor with CPUID=20655 like this i7. The processor had to be cleaned from caked thermal paste, once installed it doesn't get hotter than 78°C, at full load.
