I have used this cable to successfully receive data from MIDI devices (a MIDI keyboard and another MIDI interface on a different computer) to my old computer running Windows 98SE. I used Voyetra Sequencer Plus (which I downloaded from VOGONS Vintage Driver Library) to record myself playing on my MIDI keyboard. Alas, I have not managed to get MIDI data to send out with this cable. However, I checked the continuity of the pins in this cable with a multimeter; they all seem correct for the pin out of a game port. Therefore, this cable does not appear to be the problem.

Also, the MIDI plugs are not labelled "IN" or "OUT". Through trial and error, I found which is which and labelled them myself.
