The quality seems to be good, but when I used it on my laptop, the signal level dropped and it had the opposite effect.

Good antennas, I used them to upgrade an old notebook with an AX200 and have a really good signal quality (better than on another stock notebook of mine with an AX200 card, but it also has a metal lid). I could replace the existing antennas inside my notebook perfectly with them, easy assembly.
