The necklace came about in a month. The pearls are not alike, there are some imperfections. The oval shape makes the necklace look delicate. The string is made of white cotton string. If you are looking for something bit more luxurious, you should consider looking into other items of the seller, as they are bit more pricy and better executed. I found a yellow paint on one of the pearls and it won't come off. I still recommend the item, although not as a gift perhaps.
