I bought an item this month (Dec 2020) that was listed as free shipping. But after I ordered they contacted me to say they needed more money for shipping due to Corona, but this makes no sense as the item was listed as free shipping 12 months in to Corona. Then I looked at the tracking information and it was listed as “delivered” even though nothing had arrived so I opened a dispute. Despite this, I had only three days to reply with documents that I could not possibly have access to (documents of missing items from the shipping company- this is something the seller would have, not the buyer). So it was impossible for me to win the dispute. Ali express closed the dispute without my knowledge. This was a scam, which Ali Express covered. This just fits the world’s image of China. To anyone reading this, please be aware that this company is a total scam.
