I got this in the hopes of a smaller, more efficient DC-DC converter to replace the bulky ones I'm using for power injection for strings of WS2811 LEDs. Full white, the old ones took 1A @15V (in practice, they are powered off a 19V laptop power supply, but my bench supply only went to 15) - and above 90% brightness white, a 3.4A supply running 4 sections would overload and shut down). I was incredulous - the board is half the size, and the components small and thin, vis the hulking torroid and heatsunk switching regulator.... It worked great, drawing only 0.75A, implying that these will solve the problem with needing to limit the brightness when doing full white, and that the old switching converters I had are crap. They cost more too!
