Photo resolution is 640x480, not more. If the software allows higher resolutions, that's all done via software up-scaling, which only makes the picture worse than it already is. First it's not that easy to find the software, both for windows and for android. The included CD is missing it, for whatever reason, but you can go in their website to find 2 small softwares which works fine with this model, but for android you have to try a lot of apps until you find one that both works and that works well. A big problem is the light: the LEDs are cold-white which makes the image look very bad and unnatural, really saturated. In some case, because of that, you wouldn't be able to see much, so I suggest to turn it off and use an external, warm-white light. It is really a nice and cheap "microscope", but because it uses a very old image sensor (it's about 20-years old) and cold-light, it is barely usable as anything but a toy.
