This adapter allowed me to install an intel wifi/bluetooth M2 card in the older motherboard's M2 slot that was configured for SATA drives! Works perfectly in windows 10. The BIOS and OS recognized the card and started up immediately. I made sure my hard drives were not plugged into the wrong sata ports (when use use the M2 port, it disables 2 sata ports, as it utilizes their bandwidth, or something like that). If my C drive had been on one of those ports, my motherboard would never recognize it, and I would likely blame this adapter for breaking my motherboard. So it's very important to find out which ports will be disabled when you utilize the M2 port.
