It may be okay for an external power supply with steady voltage output, not so much for an external battery pack. It doesn't have Canon Battery Coding, so, when connected to an external battery pack, the camera (BMPCC 6K in my case) doesn't show the remaining battery capacity numerically in per cents, like coded dummy batteries for LP-E6 do - only graphically, and unreliably so.

Be advised NOT to use this Dummy Battery in any camera and not when the 7.4V DC is being fed from an external battery pack! Perhaps it may be somewhat useful with certain monitors that accept Canon LP-E6 batteries and only when 7.4V DC is being fed from a power supply. The item's description that it fits some Blackmagic cameras is WRONG and MISLEADING!
