This sharpener is flawed by design. It's solid, but the design is flawed. The nut that holds down the knife clamp is way too big which run against the sharpening stone when sherpening low shallow angles and the clamp it self is way too short making sharpening knives at 15° and sharpening thin knives like a fillet knife impossible. Because of the distance or length from the knife to the fixture/pole that holds the sharpening arm is short and the working base is 90° from the pole to the edge of the knife. This sets the sharpening arm at a very steep angle and causes a lot of friction at the pivoting joint and the sharpening pole. Out of the box the pivot was super tight. I had to make a new plastic washer. Compare to a fixture that has the base to mount the knife set at an angle like Edge Pro for example. Not to mention the pole and the pivot joint is sloppy. But it is a solidly built sharpener.
Nice! The stones are so so
