Tube is soft rubber/plastic material. It is sealed on both ends to make it water resistant. I thought this would be similar to the standard 'neon strip' LED lights that are sold elsewhere and can be mounted in aluminum channels for 'neon' effects. But this item is a different shape/design and will not fit in any assembly designed for that type of 'neon' LED strip.
