Very fast delivery to the Netherlands, beautiful sturdy amplifier, plays perfect.
Can’t be happier with this purchase! The amp came quickly- about 5 days since shipped (FedEx IP). I am a long time DIYer so first thing is to check circuit and modify :) to be honest this amp design is already very good and sound nicely. I just enlarged the power filtering capacitors, changed coupling capacitors. KT88 runs on about 330V plate at 95mA idle current - and it is running at Ultra Linear with huge power and output transformers. The output watt per official statement can go up to 15W - I have no doubt about it, it is very powerful. The preamp stage is SRPP using 6SN7 with slight global negative feedback from output transformer 8ohm. I use RCA/Tungsol 5Z3 with adapters, feeding Tungsol 6SN7 and then drive Gold Lion KT88, and I drilled a 6.3mm phone Jack so I can plug in my earphone not bothering my family at night. Overall it is a very good design, high power single ended KT88 amplifier. It simply sounds amazing and very tube-sounding with plenty detail - highly recommend!!!
