Accurate description of a totally manual prime lens of a Nikon DSLR, You need to set your own exposure and the full range of metering options will not be available in camera. Accurate focusing can be achieved by using live view rather than by doing it by eye through the view finder. The glass and build quality is reasonable for a lens of this price. This is not a lens for an inexperienced photographer, if you want to get best out of it , you need a good understanding of old school photography. That been said for the cost of the lens it is excellent value
