hesitated before buying due to higher price tag, but I had already experience with the same type but much smaller version of this stone - if you are professional chef there is probably nothing better than this at this price range. it creates almost glossy finish of the cutting edge at 6000 grit already - one think i have to point out on plus, it has real grit coarseness values if you buy 6000 it is real 6000. Had already few stones with higher number of grit but in most cases result didn't represented grit value, like for instance: you buy 6000 and it behaves more like 800, if I started to sharpen my knifes right now I would chose only this stone, Id pick 1000, 6000 and 12000grit

it seems to cut quite fast - even the harder steel around ~60HRC. looks promising, I might get a full set later.
