This radio is super great! In this review I'll try to explain why this radio may or may not be for you. First off if you're familiar with the popular UV5R model, this model is pretty similar with some small exceptions. Good things first, it's solid - well build, feels more like a real radio than it's little brother and the battery will easily get you through days without worries. It has all the same feature as you would expect, however it lacks a VFO button so switching between frequency and channel mode requires a reboot each time. If you can live with the lack of easy switching, this radio is really a step up in quality and appearance and the sound quality is exceptional. Better analog capabilities than my Anytone 878. Fast shipment from seller to, can only recommend this product. /73
So far so good. I have programmed in standard US FRS and GMRS channels using CHIRP software. Sending and receiving well. Still need to test range in wooded areas.
