The Item was life saver for me. I play Badminton extensively, before this I was using straps for my glasses. That was functional as well, but not comfortable. also I had to attach them every time. This now stays with the glasses always. Initially your ear will have little pain, thats a break in period. In week everything will be fine. You won't even notice it's there.. I will recommend. As alternative an alternative you can go for the other lengthier one having curves which will serve the same purpose. and also no pain or break in required. (pic of the alternative attached which is the one I'm currently using)
