The brush does look nice. The handle is not hollow and has a nice weight. I personally like the color as well, and the shape makes it very comfortable to hold. The knot is particular, not uber soft but very soft. When loaded it doesn't feel like a synthetic brush but more a natural brush as it doesn't have the characteristic whip effect that tuxedos, cashmeres etc do normally have. It whips lather fast and good. However, it lost 15 (yes, I counted them) fibres on its first use. Whilst this might be normal (my synthetic together have not lost that much) but if it continues will need replacement. We will see what happen. Overall, I would recommend to buy it as for that price it's a bargain and the knot seems to behave really good. By the way, kudos to Suki who was able to correct the tracking number promptly. The brush took less than 2 weeks to arrive to the UK which, considering the Coronavirus, was super fast.
The knot is very nice. Very soft tips. I've used twice so far and noticed two problem with it. The first is a minor aesthetic issue which doesn't bother me a lot, but I know people who would be bothered by it. There is some glue residual on some fibers which I cannot remove. However, it doesn't affect the performance. The second is more problematic, on my first use I've lost 15 fibres (yes, I've counted them) which is a lot. Not even my badger and boar brushes have ever lost that many hairs. On the second use, it lost only one. I hope there won't be any further loss, otherwise the brush will become unusable within few months. Is this a recognised issue with this knot or is just mine that came out wrong?
Amazing brush. 28mm is perfect for me. It looks smaller than my 30mm Yaqi but makes amazing lather. Very similar synth feel, but the G4 doesn't have that old synthetic scritch feel when face lathering. Nicely crafted polished handle and probabaly the best synth I've used so far - the butter-scotch (more butter) colour is beautiful!
