The seller did a small mistake and I actually got an Arduino nano shield - look at the pictures with the esp12-f board I've had for months, look at the footprint, look at the pinout. I'm messaging the seller and will update this review - at least it came in 3 weeks.
opened an issue from the app the day after, and got refunded straight away. Thank you, sorry it didn't work, maybe next time.

Notable flux traces along the i/o headers. Not actually an issue though. The rest everything seems fine. All in all, a bargain. Thanks!
