The extension is 0.01mm accurate between shank and taper. This is stated on the shank's plastic bag, not measured. The shank is well oiled, grinding is mediocre. This is a very loosely machined part, with the collet included I expect the runout worse than a regular 3 jaw chuck. I would not recommend this product if repeatability is necessary OR you dont want to fiddle around for any precision
