The kit should have an extra screw for the extruder lever, the original is too long to use after removing the stepper and the extruder top from the Z axis plate. To mount on the included carriage plate I was forced to invent a plastic washer and leave the screw head slightly out, i. e. tighten against the washer, which then deformed a bit. The alternative was to design/print a slightly modified part where the screw goes in, which would have been even more hassle. Wasted a day trying out things to get it to work.
