This was the only product that fit the criteria of having usb header plugin, 3.5', sd card reader with a type c external connector. The only problem is the usb header connector only uses 1 wire, all usb header connectors use two wires. it would have been nice if this thing would connect both sides for faster speed. But being a very specific and hard to find part its good enough. The metal is surprisingly heavy, got it in and it tests ok.
