The item was packed well and shipped fast. It does work with ubuntu 20.10 after installing the latest driver from DisplayLink official site. The site says it's possible to use the driver with some other distributions, but it requires some user-side modification. It supports 1920x1080 resolution. I use the DVI to HDMI converter that was supplied with the item. The real refresh rate is quite low (at least for Ubuntu 1080p resolution). it's ok to use it to connect secondary screens for documents, but it lags and has tearing. Watching videos or playing games isn't a great idea with that device. I guess it might be a common problem for all USB-videos.
Easier than I was expecting. I just plugged in and the laptop detected monitor number 3!!! It was worth waiting.
