The description of this item is inaccurate. I ordered 'M8' version, and it turned out that only the diameter of one end is of 8mm, the other end has a diameter of 10mm (the one that fits the bracket). Another issue is that it is not a standard metric M8 thread, but a M8x1 thread (i.e. a fine thread). Also, the other end has a fine thread (M10x1). Both threads are outer threads. The seller did send along a low nut for the M8 end. All else is fine.
Now it's a happy part of a diy lamp. Does its job fine.
