The attachments are really sharp and easy to use. Cucumber fits perfectly, but potato’s won’t, you will need to cut them first. I make potato chips with my Japanese cutter attachment, so it doesn’t bother me. Cleaning is very easy, but be careful for the sharp attachments.
This item is just great, it fits on a KitchenAid mixer just as a branded KitchenAid accessory does, and it functions flawlessly. I use it mostly for shredding cheese, and it actually works better than the KitchenAid branded processor I previously had (years of use before it finally broke). Hopefully this grater will work for years as well, but since it was about 1/4 the price of an actual KitchenAid accessory I won't be unhappy if it doesn't. So far it's been a great purchase. It is a bit smaller than my previous shredder but it's simple to cut the cheese or whatever into smaller chunks to fit in the feed tube.
