The RT98 was a good radio - cheap and with a number of features that made it endearing - it’s small size, 15+ watts of output, alphanumeric display, etc. However, I am not happy with Retevis. They shipped a completely crippled rig, without VFO mode. This makes it unsuitable for amateur radio use. It should not be on the market until factory production issues are sorted. You also have to wonder what is going on in their firmware department to cripple the rig in this way, and to not address the fail of a CPS on the RT73. Sorry, but while I am happy with my RT95, the unprofessional ethics and pathetic compensation offer of US$6 (if I buy another rig From them) mean that I would strongly dissuade anybody from buying a Retevis at this point in time. Their reputation is left in tatters.
